Welcome to The Cardshark Emporium, an Australian-owned trading card and collectibles store based in Beveridge, Victoria.

We specialise in Pokémon TCG, Japanese and English Pokémon cards, booster boxes, booster packs, singles, graded cards, trading card accessories and a growing range of other TCG and collectible products.

We serve collectors and players throughout Melbourne, Victoria and across Australia through our online store, Click & Collect service, community markets, card shows and conventions.

But The Cardshark Emporium didn't start as just another online card store.

It started with a collector, a Twitch stream and a community of people who loved opening cards together.

Where It All Started

The Cardshark Emporium was founded by Jake "Fishie" Nesci, but my love of trading cards started long before there was ever a business.

Like a lot of collectors from my generation, it started with the original Pokémon Base Set.

Opening Pokémon cards as a kid sparked an interest that never really disappeared. As I got older, that expanded into Yu-Gi-Oh!, gaming and the wider trading card hobby.

Years later, I started streaming on Twitch under the name Fishie.

During those streams, someone in the community suggested that I start doing live trading card breaks.

So I gave it a go.

What started as something fun between a small group of collectors quickly became much bigger than I expected.

People weren't just turning up to buy packs. They were hanging around, talking cards, watching each other's openings and celebrating the hits together.

That community became the beginning of The Cardshark Emporium in 2020.

The Original Cardshark Emporium

The timing was pretty incredible.

The trading card hobby exploded during 2020 and 2021, and Cardshark grew alongside it.

What started through livestreams developed into a genuine business and community.

There was something special about opening products live and having everyone there for the experience. Someone pulling a huge card didn't just excite the person who bought the pack — the whole stream got involved.

But while Cardshark was growing, something much more important was happening in my life.

My wife and I were preparing to welcome our son, Vasilli.

Running the business properly required an enormous amount of time, and I had a decision to make.

Cardshark could wait.

My family couldn't.

So I made the decision to step away from the business and focus on being there for my family.

The Return of The Cardshark Emporium

The business stopped, but I never stopped being a collector.

The cards stayed.

The interest stayed.

And the idea of Cardshark never really disappeared.

After a few years away, the time finally felt right.

In 2024, The Cardshark Emporium returned.

This time I wanted to take everything I loved about the original Cardshark — the community, the excitement, the personal service and actually knowing the people you're dealing with — and build it into something sustainable for the long term.

Today, Cardshark has grown well beyond the original livestream breaks, but that collector mentality is still at the centre of the business.

The Cardshark Emporium Today

Today, The Cardshark Emporium operates from Beveridge, Victoria, serving trading card collectors and players throughout Australia.

Our range includes Pokémon TCG products, Japanese Pokémon cards, English Pokémon products, booster boxes, booster packs, singles, graded cards, trading card accessories and products from a growing range of other trading card games.

We're constantly expanding what we stock as the TCG industry grows and new games and products become available.

Customers can order through our online store for delivery throughout Australia or use our Click & Collect service from our Beveridge location.

We're also not interested in being a business that exists only behind a website.

You can find The Cardshark Emporium at markets, card shows, conventions and other collector events, meeting customers face-to-face and being part of the Australian TCG community.

Collectors First

One of the biggest things I want Cardshark to retain as it grows is the fact that we're collectors too.

We understand why condition matters.

We understand why someone might want a booster box kept pristine for their sealed collection.

We understand the excitement of chasing a particular card, completing a set or finally finding a grail you've been looking for.

And we definitely understand the feeling of opening packs and somehow pulling absolutely nothing.

That experience influences how we pack orders, source products, communicate with customers and decide what we want Cardshark to become.

I don't want The Cardshark Emporium to feel like you're buying from a faceless online retailer.

I want it to feel like you're buying from another collector.

The Cardshark Emporium sources products through established suppliers, distributors and trusted industry channels.

We aim to clearly represent the products we sell and provide customers with accurate information about product condition, availability and whether an item is in stock, on pre-order or otherwise awaiting supply.

Whether you're purchasing sealed Pokémon products, singles, graded cards, accessories or another TCG product, we want you to know what you're buying and who you're buying it from.

More Than Pokémon

Pokémon will probably always be a massive part of Cardshark — it's where my own collecting journey started.

But The Cardshark Emporium has grown into much more than a Pokémon card store.

We stock and support a growing selection of trading card games and collectibles, alongside singles, graded cards, accessories and other products for collectors.

As new TCGs enter the Australian market and existing games grow, we'll continue expanding the range while staying connected to the games and products our customers actually want.

ARK Grading

The Cardshark Emporium is also proud to work with ARK Grading Australia, giving collectors another option for professionally grading and protecting their trading cards.

Customers can submit eligible cards through The Cardshark Emporium, with information about current grading services, pricing and submissions available through the ARK Grading section of our website.

For us, grading is another extension of the collecting hobby — whether you're protecting a favourite childhood card, grading a modern hit or building a graded collection.

Community Matters

The community is where Cardshark started, and I don't want that to disappear as the business grows.

That's why we continue getting out to markets, trading card shows, conventions and community events.

Being able to meet customers, talk cards, buy and sell, see people's collections and put faces to the names behind online orders is one of the best parts of running the business.

The goal isn't simply to build a bigger online store.

It's to build The Cardshark Emporium into a name Australian collectors know and trust.
