Believe It! Bandai Has Officially Announced a Naruto Trading Card Game
As someone who spends most of his time around trading cards, it takes a lot for a new announcement to genuinely get me excited.
This one did.
Bandai has officially announced a brand-new Naruto Trading Card Game, with a planned release window of 2027 and more information expected to be revealed in late July 2026.
For many people, this is simply another anime card game announcement.
For me, it's much more than that.
I'm a huge Naruto fan.
Like many fans from my generation, Naruto wasn't just another anime I watched growing up—it was the anime that got me hooked on anime in the first place. I spent countless hours following Naruto's journey from the village outcast nobody believed in to the hero who united the entire shinobi world.
So hearing that Naruto is finally getting the modern trading card game treatment feels long overdue.
And honestly?
I think this has the potential to become one of the biggest anime TCG launches we've seen in years.
Why This Announcement Hits Different
For many collectors, Pokémon was their introduction to trading cards.
For many anime fans, Naruto was their introduction to anime.
The series gave us some of the most memorable moments in anime history:
-
Rock Lee dropping his ankle weights against Gaara
-
Itachi's shocking introduction and the mystery of the Uchiha Clan
-
Naruto mastering Sage Mode
-
Jiraiya's final battle
-
Pain's assault on the Hidden Leaf Village
-
Minato's legendary appearances
-
Madara's arrival during the Fourth Great Ninja War
-
Naruto and Sasuke's final battle at the Valley of the End
These aren't just scenes from a show.
They're moments that an entire generation remembers.
That's exactly why Naruto is such a perfect fit for a trading card game.
The franchise is packed with iconic characters, legendary battles, emotional storylines and unforgettable artwork opportunities that collectors will be chasing for years.
Why Naruto Could Be Bandai's Next Big Success
Bandai has built an impressive track record in the trading card industry.
The One Piece Card Game has become one of the hottest TCGs in the world.
Dragon Ball Fusion World continues to attract players and collectors.

Now Bandai is turning its attention to one of the most recognisable anime franchises ever created.
Naruto has everything needed for a successful trading card game:
-
A massive worldwide fanbase

Incredible artwork potential
-
Competitive gameplay possibilities
-
Strong collector appeal
Whether you're a fan of Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, Boruto, or all three, there is an enormous amount of source material Bandai can draw from.
Imagine The Chase Cards
As collectors, we all know that feeling.
The first card reveal drops.
Then the alternate arts get announced.
Then suddenly you're planning how many booster boxes you're going to open.
Naruto has endless possibilities when it comes to chase cards.
Imagine pulling:
-
Alternate Art Itachi Uchiha
-
Sage Mode Naruto
-
Six Paths Naruto
-
Minato Namikaze
-
Kakashi Hatake
-
Pain
-
Madara Uchiha
-
Obito Uchiha
-
Jiraiya
-
Gaara
-
Rock Lee
And that's before we even start talking about scene cards.
Can you imagine opening a premium card featuring:
-
Naruto vs Sasuke at the Valley of the End
-
The Akatsuki gathered together
-
Itachi's farewell to Sasuke
-
Minato facing Obito during the Nine-Tails attack
-
Naruto's Sage Mode entrance against Pain
-
Madara standing against the Allied Shinobi Forces
The possibilities are incredible.
My Personal Dream Chase Cards
If Bandai is listening, here's what I'd be chasing immediately:
-
Alternate Art Itachi Uchiha
-
Alternate Art Minato Namikaze
-
Sage Mode Naruto
-
Six Paths Naruto
-
Madara Uchiha (Ten-Tails Jinchuriki)
-
Dual Mangekyo Sharingan Kakashi
-
Pain vs Naruto Scene Card
-
Valley of the End Naruto vs Sasuke
-
Full-Art Akatsuki Group Card
And if Bandai really wants to cause chaos among collectors...
Give us a super short-print serialized Itachi card.
My wallet would never recover.

Final Thoughts
As both a trading card collector and a lifelong Naruto fan, this announcement feels special.
Naruto helped define an entire generation of anime fans.
Now it finally has the opportunity to establish itself in the modern trading card game market.
Whether you're a collector, a player, or someone who grew up rushing home after school to catch the latest episode, this is shaping up to be one of the most exciting TCG announcements in years.
We still have a wait ahead of us, with the game scheduled for release in 2027 and more information expected later this July, but one thing is certain:
The Will of Fire is finally coming to the trading card world.
And I'll be first in line to open a booster box.
What would your first Naruto TCG chase card be?
